Liberty Basketball has created a drill library for coaches to access for the purpose of practice planning. We will continue to update the library with additional small sided games (SSG’s) & drills as we get them recorded.
We recommend the General Practice Plan Structure to include the following:
Skill Building – The goal is develop players’ skill sets with the ball in their hands while defining the decision making & spacing-related decisions needed off the basketball.
Transition Development – Establish running lanes, a read progression, emphasizing finding early advantages thru early hit aheads in transition flowing into our half court offense.
Small Sided Games – Using 2v2, 3v3 & 4v4 play to teach players how to create space, how to attack space, how to create advantages and how to maintain the advantage until we find an easy & open shot.
5v5 Live Play – Create game like scenarios in the half court, full court and out of special situations. Incorporate Advantage starts, Disadvantage starts and neutral starts.
